Match is case + whitespace insensitive (S 2T = s2t). Empty variants don't count. Two ways to clear a group: Promote to catalog when the typed string is a real variant to bless (it reclassifies every repair that used it), or Reassign to remap the group's repairs to a correct catalog hardware + variant right here — no need to open each repair's Update page.

Create a new Hardware Catalog model from this “Other” entry, then link the
0 repair(s) to it (each repair keeps its own variant).
Add variant to catalog
Add — to a catalog model, then link the
0 repair(s) to it. Defaults to the model it drifted under — change it if the variant belongs elsewhere.
