Records are grouped when their names look alike or at least three of
name / phone / email / address agree. The kind says what the match means:
a duplicate is one record twice, a company + contact is a business and
someone who works there (merging those would destroy the company), a family shares a
surname, coworkers share only a shop. Nothing is deleted — folded-in records go
inactive, and every move is reversible from Recent merges at the bottom
of this page. Not duplicates is remembered, so a group you dismiss stays gone.
Merge by hand
For the ones the scan won’t propose. Search by name, phone, email or address, add every record
that is the same customer, then choose the customer to keep — that field searches
every customer, so the one you keep does not have to appear in the results below.

Evidence, not proposals. These records share a phone number — often a duplicate
the name scan couldn't see ("CODY - DRP" vs "DRP PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS"), but family members,
teams, and dealer shop lines share phones legitimately. Merge only what you KNOW is the same
customer; Not duplicates dismisses the whole group for good.
Recent merges
Every merge, newest first — and the way back. Un-merging returns the record's jobs and
contacts and makes it active again. Anything moved by hand since the merge is left where
it is and reported, because that was somebody's deliberate decision.
